If we’re building your site…

We only build websites using WordPress, which is both user and search engine friendly. All of the sites we construct feature optimized code that’s easy to maintain, expand, and/or re-skin at a later date. We try to make our sites as “modular” as possible.

If we’re optimizing an existing site…

We will review your existing WordPress site and make suggestions about configuration options. While we have a preferred group of plugins and settings that we recommend, we’re experienced enough with WordPress to use just about any functioning configuration.

WordPress Site Optimization

Once we have your site configured correctly, we’ll focus on on-site optimization

  • We’ll make sure your website structure and and interlinking scheme is properly optimized
  • We’ll make sure all important tags (title tag, image alt tags, meta description tag) are completed correctly
  • We’ll review and optimize your existing content for visitors and search engines (NOTE: The size of your site dictates the cost of optimizing existing content)
  • We’ll ensure proper use of semantic mark-up (as applicable)
  • We’ll improve site speed as much as possible, as a faster website offers a better user experience and perhaps improved search engine rankings
  • We’ll install and configure Google Aanlytics to collect all sorts of data – everything from the basics (visitor source, time on site, landing page bounce rates, etc.) to the more advanced configuration options (event tracking of outbound clicks, downloads, media interactions, etc.)
Finally, and most importantly, we will work with you to develop an ongoing content strategy and help you to execute that strategy, either by providing content creation services to you or helping you find a long-term content provider.

Off-site SEO

Once your site is optimized and your content strategy is in place, it’s time to promote your site for the purpose of building links, gaining attention of the influential voices in your industry or market, etc. While there are dozens of different tactics, off-site SEO generally includes the following activities.

Directory Submission – While the effectiveness of this tactic has declined greatly, it’s still an important task for local and industry-specific directories

Article Placement- Typically, articles are placed through guest blogging. However, article placement can also be accomplished via journalist outreach and quality, niche-specific article directories (of which there are admittedly very few).

Infographic Creation and Submission - Creating an infographic can be a great way to boost your brand, share some existing information in a more accessible format, and develop dozens or hundreds of quality links and social actions (i.e. shares, likes, tweets, etc.)

Tool and Resource Development – Creating a useful tool or resource can be an excellent way to build links both now and in the future. While developing widgets and free software to coming up with user-friendly ways to share data can be labor-intensive, the long-term payoff can be dozens or hundreds of high quality links as well as a potential lead generation tool.

Outreach – Good old-fashioned outreach – defined as contacting journalists, bloggers, and other influential web users – to promote your website as a resource, as a good story, etc. is a cornerstone of any off-site SEO project. As a general rule, outreach is a component of every SEO campaign we complete.

Submission to top local search engines (Google, Yahoo, Bing) and directories like Manta, Yelp, or Hotfrog to help with your Organic SEO.
